About Quinta
A roofless farmhouse, a lot of lime, and ten years of slow weeks.

Our story
We wanted a place where a week actually feels like a week.
Marta found the farmhouse in 2014: no roof, a well full of leaves and twelve hectares of olives nobody had picked for years. She had been teaching yoga in Lisbon for a decade and wanted somewhere her students could stay longer than a weekend.
It took two years and a lot of lime plaster. Local masons rebuilt the walls, the grain barn became the long table, and the old stable became the shala. Tomás joined to run the kitchen in 2017, and the first guest teachers came the year after.
Today we run around twenty retreats a year and open the house to teachers we trust in between. We keep groups small, the food local and the wifi in the main house only.
What we care about
Three things we will not compromise on.
Small groups
Fourteen guests at most, often fewer. Everyone eats at one table and nobody gets lost in a crowd.
Local and seasonal
Food from our garden and the market in Montemor, cork and lime in the walls, solar on the barn roof.
Honest teaching
Hosts who explain what they are doing and why, and never push you past what feels right.
So far
