Our nearest town is small, white and quiet, with a ruined castle on the hill and very good coffee.
Where to eat
Book a table at a tasca near the market for grilled fish and local wine. Go early, because they close when the food runs out.
Where to walk
Climb up to the castle at sunset. On a clear day you can see all the way to Évora.
